Write the 2 sentences about the character described. Switch papers with a partner. Under his/her 2 sentences, write a minimum of 35 words in a paragraph expanding or elaborating on the idea in one of the sentences. Put your name on the paper and hand it in.

(1) Write the page number and the sentence from the book in which the word appears.
(2) Write the definition that fits the context of the sentence in which it was found.
(3) Write your own sentence using the word, clearly implying the meaning. Example: When the child read the MORAL of the story, he learned that patience has its rewards.
HW: For each chapter, write a question that isn't clearly answered in the text. "Why" questions are usually good.

3) List at least 3 major writers of each period. When there are fewer than 3 major, list your most memorable other ones.
4) List at least 2 important/memorable/significant details about the life and work of each writer that helps you remember him & his work
HW: Multiple choice exam ( 75 minutes time limit, but note which one you're on when you reach the limit, and then finish all of the questions); Vocabulary 23-32 and terms P, Q, R
